No
Direct debits.

They always come out on the 17th of the month, but for some reason, they came out on the 15th, meaning I will get pending charges - I have a club lloyds account that I pay money into each month (an exact amount) to cover the mortgage, electricity, heating oil etc and they all came out early before my standing order to that account wires the money over. Is this normal for companies to do? I'm going back over my statements and it's always been the 17th until this week!

DD should come off on the due date or the next working day, not earlier. Contact the bank and find out why they changed the date, if all your payments came out early it can only be the banks doing. Make sure you're not going to be liable for any charges.

I'll give them a call tomorrow :) I've never known it to happen before that's why I'm a tad confused, the account doesn't have an overdraft but they still stuck -£22 on it!

My bank seems to adopt the on or before method, I accept that (not that I agree IMO it should be the day after)if the due day is a Sunday or Monday then the dd will come out on the Saturday but I have had a 22nd come on the 16th. no bank holiday involved.

I don't see they have any excuse. Today (17th) is not a weekend or bank holiday. I'd have a right go. It seems strange that all the companies would do this 2 days early so must be a Lloyds thing. They've probably taken it out your account 2 days early but won't pay complained until 17th so they can gamblke your money, f*@%!\g bankers.

The simple fact of the matter is that unless you've been notified of a change to your direct debit amount or date at least 10 working days prior to being debited (or as other period agreed) your in titled to a refund of any charges incurred, this is from the organisation that has taken the payment otherwise than in accordance with the mandate....the direct debit system is a fantastic system....it's all about the "direct debit guarantee"

Bit off if it has cost you, but any reason you cut it so fine paying the money in?
Like to give myself a bit of leeway, banks and computers haven't been great in recent times

Not sure what happened here but I am with Lloyds and I get text alerts whenever my balance falls below a limit which I set using internet banking. Lloyds take DDs and SOs out at the beginning of the day and if that puts you into overdraft they will null the requests and try again at 15:00 to give you time to top up your account.
