Recently, I've noticed a growing use of the term "excited for ..." rather than "excited about ..."
It bugs me.

Depends on the context.

I could be 'excited for' someone passing their exam/having a new baby,

I would be 'excited about' buying a new camera.

And then there's "excited by ..." the missus hopefully, the football perhaps, but probably not the Referendum!

Or she just wants to have fun?

:coat:

Or just showing her True Colours. :D

Indeed.

Next thing, she'll be the UK's Eurovision entrant!

Just like Australia and Israel? :P

Pretty sure that EU membership isn't necessary to enter the ESC and that the UK will remain in Europe geographically for a while. Hell, the vote only means that the politicians will now start looking at if the UK can leave and if so, how and then when - all at our expense...

No. The vote means we do leave.
The politicians start looking at whether we can do it with any style :-)

Ha, just thinking about the voting/politics of the contest, I wonder if we'll win next time......or come last?

At least it'll be a good litmus-test for our Govt, they'll have a good idea who our friends are & who'll be most receptive to our negotiations! (y) I knew the competition would prove useful one day. :D

Wasn't that what that referendum was for ,surely it was about leaving the Eurovision Song Contest .
