Woud it be fair to assume that grey prices are going to head north due to the recent devaluing of the pound? (or indeed non-grey prices).

On the assumption bodies only ever get cheaper, I was going to wait as long as possible to buy some gear for a holiday in June but now I'm thinking it would be better to buy now.

I seem to recall when the Yen went fubar ca. 2010 prices soon went sky high meaning second hand prices were higher that people had bought new for a while.

Nikon have recently massively increased their prices (70-200 4, £789 before Christmas, £999 now!) so I think it's already happened for some manufacturers.

Prices on the grey market have definatly shot up in the last few months.

Nikon announced a while back that they would be increasing lens prices world wide for example the humble 50mm 1.8G has dramatically increased in price in the last 3 months.

The devaluing of the pound has obviously had an impact as well.

As it happens, I emailed Panamoz this morning as I'm looking to purchase a D810, the price has gone up £40 or so in the last couple of weeks. They said they could knock £20 off though, as I have purchased 5 cameras over the last couple of years, so they have had a few quid out of me.

As mentioned Nikon price increases aren't helping though.

Thanks folks, I know Olympus and Panasonic are about to get a 30% price hike in Canada who have been enjoying positive exchange rate tailwinds for a while.

All that said though and the camera I've been watching (Oly EM5ii) has just dropped £40 at HDEW to as low as it's been - think I'll order one now.
