Yes
4 months of furlough seems to have pushed stuff out of my brain.

I have a spreadsheet with some 500 rows. I've inserted a column in which I need to insert a week number (eg, "WEEK 5"). if I drag the 1st cell down, it changes to "WEEK 6"` and so on. I could've sworn that there was a way to avoid that. I've tried holding Shift or Ctrl but it doesn't work.

Can someone please tell me I didn't imagine it.

As you hover over bottom right it changes to a plus sign, Hold CTRL then and drag down. It should increase? Then at bottom you get a box and change the value to the top one (copy) - looks like the error box you may get?

Yeah, I tried that but the numbers still went up.

Have you tried copying/pasting the value from cell 1 into all of the remaining cells manually? You should be able to paste into all of them at once...

Yes, I've done that (go to the bottom and Ctrl+D). I was just wondering about the other method as it would've been a little quicker.

Copy and paste it in the cells below twice, select all 3 cells with "Week 5" in, drag it down as you have been... Thank me later :)
