Can't work out how to do this...

I know our conversion rate for leads is 6% - i.e. if we get 100 leads we will win 6 deals. But I can't work out how to get the number of leads needed if I need say 20 deals?

I am using the cell for 6% to be a number we can change, so if we feel our rate doubles to say 12%, then the number of leads we need will be less as our conversion rate is bigger.

At the moment, you need 100 / 6 = (roughly) 16.5 leads to make each deal. Hence, if you want to make 20 deals, you need to get (roughly) 333 leads.

Now, if you double your converstion rate to 12%, then the leads required drops to (roughly) 8 per deal so you'd then need only 8 x 20 = 160 leads to achieve your target.

I interviewed a guy once and he had HIS numbers in his head.

"I need x calls to get y leads, from y leads I convert around 8%, so that's z. I know my AOV is £12k, so to hit my target know how many calls I need to make."

Bloody impressive actually, and he wasn't far off those figures once we gave him the job either.

Thanks - was actually *1 probably do to the fact I was using % - easy in the end!

Yeah, you've fallen for Excel's trickery :) The % thing is just presentation - the numbers behind it are different so you want 100.
