Just wanted to share this, I am by no means an expert but as I've just asked tonnes of questions I thought I'd try to be helpful too!

I have been doing studio photography for two years, I started with a B&Q dustsheet as a backdrop and two floodlights. Didn't take long to move to a material backdrop and support system with a Portaflash lighting kit.

Got bored of editing background creases and bought a hilite. Then had the problem with the train being grey. So I started using the material backdrop in front of the hilite to even out the background and floor (as at time didn't have any more money for additional lights)

These are the results unedited (using my kids, they are poor photos but would rather use my kids on here)

Now my lights are pretty poor at the moment (230v), and I have a lot of improving to do (and equipment to buy). But thought I'd share.

Thanks for that Iv just bought a highlite and have the same lights so much to think about

Glad it gave you something to think about.

Mr Rudesing complained about what poor photos I've added, so here's a couple of better ones from the day

Neither shows the backdrop well but Toddler Rudesing is having a hissy fit so I'd better go & sort it out
