EWA housing

I just did a quick search and didn't get much. So i though id make a new post. Sorry if its in the wrong section, don't think it is though.


I need Housing for my 30d, and spent a few hours looking around and found the U-A and U-AX models from EWA Marine. Some things ive read have praised their products, however...some have said that they split, thus damaging everything inside. Id like to know if anyone has any first hand experience with any model, but particularly the U-A or the U-AX. I would get one of those £100 cameras with housing, however i need the FPS that my canon has.

im going to be using it for surface pictures only...taking pictures of kite surfing. so the camera wont be exposed to any water pressure as such, ill also be in salt water.

Any advice, tips, links, full reviews...whatever, will be welcomed.


also, would it be worth getting one with built in flash space for a flash gun?? i could save £20 and get one without. I dont have a flash yet. its always sunny in england...so i dont know if ill need one.

Nevertheless you may assume that a £100 cam won't sport any really useful FPS rate.

You need flash for fill. But a puny built-in peanut flash gun won't hack it.

Hi,

I am trying to take shots of the family surfing with a D200 and stumbled across this

Rather than make the bag I bought a 10 litre "Aran" dry bag from Crewsaver (http://www.crewsaver.co.uk/Crewsaver/Crewsaver_Leisure_Products/index.html?catid=44).
I wish I had gotten the 20litre bag for a bit more room to manoeuvre the camera around inside it. I have still to test it in the sea but it worked OK when I held it submerged a 12inches or so for 10 minutes at home. Total cost so fa about £20

well, i would have needed it for friday, but its too late and wont get here in time. Ill keep my options open for now, but ill take your advice Dolly and get one with flash. If i get one, ill revive this thread and post my review/thoughts.
