I have just paid a visit to Aladdin's cave west derby road Liverpool. This is a second hand shop full of amazing goodies, such as electric guitars amps speakers car sterios, fishing gear etc. It has been going for ever, well as far back as I can remember mid 70s.

I was in search of any Nikon bits and bobs, but they said they have not had any Nikon gear in for over two years. He said they have had everything else in but Nikon!

Just wondering why, do Nikon owners hoard their gear :shrug:

Maybe it has something to do with Nikons not being worth much when new let alone used :shrug: :D

Not 100% sure on that, as I was leaving I overheard them saying they preferred Nikon over Canon :)
 
Interesting statistic

Threads in the Canon section = 885 threads
Threads in the Nikon section = 455 threads

So that sort of backs up that less kit is on the used market for Nikon :lol:

or its in such demand that it sells more quickly and the threads get archived

A friend of mine told me, a lot of these places pick through the stuff that comes in, they keep all the good stuff for themselves and put all the worthless tat out for sale. :thumbs:

I am not saying Alladins Cave does this.

Possibly :lol: it's a single archive though so not way for me to check that with out a lot of work I don't want to do :lol:

Nah I think that it's just people prefer to steal Nikon stuff :naughty: as they cannot justify paying actually money for it :coat:

I did read some place can't remember where, the majority of Nikon owners are professional, while only amateurs use Canon. Hence Nikon owners do not need to seek out help from forums, can't remember where I read that :thinking:
 
There could be a lot of factors at work here, the resale price may be higher/lower, the local photographers may have a sort of local mentor who recomends Canon so more tend to buy it. Another factor is Nikon lens tend to fit pretty much all nikons so more may keep them when going to digital or upgrading.
It may even be the nearest camera shop offers better prices for second hand nikon gear.

:lol: yeah that's the reason for sure. :nuts:

Or maybe all the Nikon lens users actually get cool shots so don't feel the need to replace stuff...

or maybe Nikon owners are better at paying their bills so the bailiffs never have to come round and collect old junk...

or maybe it has nothing to do with anything... :D

I did not start this, a Canon owner did ;) .. I love all makes of Camera's Yes even Canon ;) :thumbs:

If I had my way, I would have a Canon sitting besides my Nikon sitting besides a Sony sitting besides a .....;)

There's a Comet near where I live and that doesn't even sell new Nikon Dslr's or Lens... but does sell other brands - not a happy bunny, I love my Nikon stuff :(

Same in my local Comet not much in the way of Nikon, they have a lot of samsung and sony stuff :shrug:

Have they never done Nikon stuff? Could be because of the shortage of Nikon gear at the moment
