Every Canon owner needs to read this security alert

Well, in some ways, I'm glad I've got an 80d, because the firmware upgrade is ready for download.
 
Well it's not really EVERY Canon owner - it's those with Wifi abilities - and then it's not every Canon owner with Wifi abilities as a large percentage wouldn't be using the wifi function - it's more like 'If you use Wifi on your Canon - read this'. Oh the drama!
 
Having thought about it, I never connect my camera to my home or anyone else's WiFi, I only connect between the camera and phone. So I can't see that as being a problem.
