Ever left a forum because of bickering

One make car clubs are often/usually/always like this - totally blinkered to things in the outside world. Cannot accept that their car can be anything less than perfect and no other car from any other manufacturer can produce a vehicle remotely as good.

There are a few members on the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship)forum with that exact mentality. They tend to jump on people who disagree with them, they tend to think no one is allowed to have different opinions and if they have got their opinion in first, then that is it, done no room for discussion. Then they moan to the moderators if you question them. I've often had the Moderators on there warning me of my conduct. Last time I PM'd the moderator explaining that these people are reading things into what I've written that just aren't there. I also pointed out that these people also have such a poor grasp of the English language etc. they had no basis for complaint. Strangely the moderator never answered that one.
Last month someone asked about best places to take photos at Oulton Park for the BTCC races. He got very rude replies from two members telling him to go to the track and find out for himself. I sent him a link to our Matt Sayles guide to Oulton Park and he was very gracious in his reply.:thumbs:
 
The car forum i was on, was to put it bluntly Rude to all but a select few, Mods or Admin read PM's and passed the info around to the clique, deleted posts without explaining, some members me included, had poor spelling and grammar, they pulled people apart about that, they gave no leeway for mistakes.

they ripped new members apart in supercilious ways.

while we have a positive thread/post about Wheels 1000th post, they actually ripped a guy apart for posting to much, when in fact he was retired and very knowledgeable about the make of car, and helped many a member, he could get in first because he was there and was usually right, the others looked on that as scoring points and hounded him out. good cars crap forum.

Hi yes i think it was, god orfull site, never going back only to laugh at it, same arguments with a guy in kirkham and his workmanship, there still having a pop at him now. glad i drifted away was only a member for a year.:lol:

Ive had to hide a lot of people from appearing on my wall on Facebook, all their posts were very judgemental about other people in the rat fancy and all they wanted was lots of attention... I got very bored with it all! Ive only hidden them rather than removed them as removing them would cause them to think its a big deal and make nasty comments about me.

I have stepped back from a rat forum as there was some snidiness, but its all sorted out quite quickly and well so I was only away for a week.
