ok. back from shooting the wedding of "she who has no cash"
one of the other wedding "suppliers" (caterer actualy) asked us queitly , if we'd been paid.
a quick discusion with others revealed some interesting facts.
the wedding planner had threatened to cancel the whole wedding a week ago if she didnt get paid.
so did the caterers.
(upwards of £1000).
the venue for the night time do(which we arent shooting) said pay up or we arent playing . two days ago.
the florist pulled out .
the cake supplier pulled out.
a deal was done with the wedding cars at the last minute.
some folks are just nuts.
having said all that, were pleased we did turn up.
the wedding and photos went brilliantly. we forgot about the bother and got on with it.
the b&g were a huge load of fun, as were the guests.
we had a ball, and got some fantastic shots.
we shall see what happens next.
ive reminded the gaffer several times, no payment , no goodies.
were not even putting online proofs up, until were payed in full.
on the plus side, weve made a friend of the wedding planner , and two of the guests who seemed to like our way of working, enquired about us shooting their weddings.
wack 61.
the haulage company i work for pulled out on a big customer last year, who owed them over £50k.pay by the end of the month or we pull our trailers out, and keep your goods in our warehouse until you pay.
they didnt. we did.
they had to get another haulier in , and drop one of their customers in it, cos they had no stock,it was in our warehouse.

a week later, bills paid and stock released.
we still actualy work with them, but accounts are paid promptly at 30 days now.
you cant afford to go bust, cos your too nice.
