Hi all.
After many years as a point and squirt snapper I've launched myself into the DSLR world with an EOS 500D and now I need to learn how to take photographs not snaps. Also looking for hints and tips to refine my underwater photography.
Any helpful pointers would be truly appreciated.
 
Hello Chris - i am exactly the same - a keen point and snapper for years, and i have just this evening taken the plunge and ordered an EOS 500D as well (and joined this forum too, if i can't have my camera yet at least i can talk about it..). So i have no tips to offer of course but it would be interesting to swap experiences as we go. Like a DLSR learner buddy.. ;)

So far the 500D has given me some good shots and I'm looking forward to finding out how to turn them into great shots. I'll let you know how it progress :thumbs:
