Yes
am i right in beliving its a lens prob . 1 lens is fine on my cam the sigma keeps saying err99

when you take off the sigma lens , look at the bottom ( the one that connects to the camera)

You should see contacts on it ( tow or three brass contacts)

Give them a wipe of a static cloth or someone mentioned an eraser

It could be another problem that your Sigma is an old lens and not compatible with the camera and might need re-chipping from Sigma , its a problem from Canon to Sigma lenses

its the lens found out its a really old 1 it works on d30 and d60 and all film eos canons . going to put it on ebay lol not got a clue what its worth knowing that now i brought it off there for film and digital

Assuming this the lens you mentioned on your other thread? You should have told us about the error code on that one too - re-chip or flog it.. it's an old lens...

did the seller state it works with digital, if so put a claim in with paypal for your money back, if you list it stating it only works on film cameras and old DSLRs you'll get peanuts for it

If the seller said it'll work with any canon dslr and it doesn't it's been mis sold so you should get your money back

Yeah, I get the same problem with my old Sigma lenses. I called Sigma about it and they said both my 24-70mm and 100-300mm are too old to be re-chipped. But, they did tell me right now they are offering trade-in for older lenses for a cut price new one. You might want to get in contact with them.

Its a general error code and I have had it with canon lenses fitted on mine,I usually switch off take out the batteries and CF card and then put everything back together, works every time.

EXACTLY what I do! Strangley, it usually happens when my Siggy 70-300 is being used!!! But doing the above has always done the trick!

I have a photographic memory that was never developed

I had one of these, that's why I call 'em Stigma.

Older ones (mine was bought in 1999, I think) can't be chipped.

I gave mine away.

ya they said it was film/digital because it works on there d30 and d60
