Yes
 Bet that opened a few eyes.:D

The problem I am having is my 40D just wont carry comfortably on the neck strap that is provided.

When I wear the neck strap the camera sits on my side or front and refuses to hang down and sticks out like a bloody great "erection" which I find annoying.

I'm worried that being as clumsy as I am that sticking out like this the lens will get knocked.

Is there a better solution than the neck strap arrangement to make it hang with the lens down?

you need a talkphotography op/tech strap !

The camera won't sit 100% as you want, but you'll be more comfortable and you'll look

Get an E1 wrist strap anything else is just silly:thumbs::wave:

I can see the merits in one of them but I don't have an attachment for a wrist strap.

Do i need a battery grip fitted to use one of them?

The R strap looks as if it might be better for walk about scenarios or is it just a gimmick.

Has anyone tried one out?

yes you do, i find the cameras position when held on the neck strap is more to do with the size/weight of the lens, anjd as far as im aware you do need a battery grip fitted for the wrist strap, atleast thats the case with the canon one anyway

The Canon one you need a grip attched however there are others that come supplied with an attachment for the bottom strap to fit into, this fits into the screw hole for the tripod HTH

If im carrying either of my cameras with a biggish lens on i usually turn the camera round so the eyepiece side is against my body, this allows the lens to hang down rather than out ?

I'm not carrying a big lens, it's only the kit lens.

I have tried this method and it works better but is not ideal, I get the feeling the strap tabs should be in the middle or bottom of the body and not the top.

I might bite the bullet and buy a r strap and see how i get on with that.
