Yes
So it seems Equifax has been hacked and customer data stolen

It would also appear that just before the breach was made public 3 Equifax executives sold shares in the company reported to be worth some $1.8M - Shares in Equifax slumped massively once the breach was made public.

Some early reports are saying just US customers are affected but this is not the case, Equifax themselves have said UK customers have been affected as well.

If you have ever had any dealings with Equifax then best get in touch and make sure all is OK

That's an interesting one, how do they define a customer I wonder? I have in the past requested a statutory report from all three credit reporters to check the information held on me is correct, for which they charge £2, but have never got involved with their sign up for regular reports subscriptions.

Yeah, that's quite bad....

Well they are counting "customers" as 2.5X the population of the UK or 50% of the US so I suspect they also count you.

Took them 40 days to reveal they had a data breach according to the above article.

From their advert on the above link:-

"Equifax is ideally placed to help businesses if they experience a data breach. We have one of the largest sources of detailed consumer data in the UK.

Equifax Protect enables businesses to offer their customers and employees a range of tools so that they can react fast and take appropriate action to reduce the risk of fraud."
