I have an opportunity to buy one of these in good nick at a very good price. I can't afford a V500 or anything better, so given that, is the V330 worth buying for 35mm negative scans?

I'm not after top quality scans, just good enough; better than coop but not as good as a top flight lab!!!

How much is the price?
Used V500 or V4490 are very cheap.

£25. The V500 I've seen has reached £82 already, so big difference :)

Ah OK, that explains the price. Thanks.

I watched every v500 on eBay and searched Preloved and Gumtree for a couple of weeks, hoping for a bargain, and in the end I gave up and bought a B-i-N for £110. If v500s used to be cheap, I don't think they are now.

(there's been one on the classifieds for £80 for a while, but he doesn't want to post it.)

£100 is about the base price for these I'd say. I got mine for about £110 a couple of years ago. It was a return I think, still with all its plastic taped in place and £40 cheaper than retail.

Must admit I got mine for £65 from a member on here it was a bit grubby (the scanner not the member)

:-)

Don't forget if you buy the V500 you can always sell it on if you get bored with it.
