I purchased the above printer about 6 months ago & it's produced some good quality prints, but for some reason the last few times I've printed from it, the quality has been rubbish.

No matter what profiles I use the the prints all come out dull & with a colour cast over the the print & they look nothing like the file.

I edit the RAW files in Lightroom, convert to .tiff & print in Photoshop, so I'm not expecting such poor quality.

I've checked the inks, the heads, the alignment & they are all fine.

I know it's probably a long shot, but has anyone else experienced this?

I have one of these printers and I am very pleased with the printing....:)

I have one to and it work fine, why dont you try printing from a sd card straight in to the printer alone with your pc off.
If he print ok then is your software or cable.

I print wireless & like I said it has produced some good prints, but of late the quality is poor.

What settings are you both using?

I upload from camera to Elements 11, then the edited photo is saved on the computer hard drive in a folder. Then I select the picture I need to print in the software that came with the printer (Epson easy photo print)....:)

I spoke to a customer rep from Epson today & I've done a few tests tonight.

Firstly I've printed from a memory stick, inserted into the printer & the quality was much better, not outstanding, but better than what I've been getting.

I also printed directly from Lightroom, which again wasn't an exact reproduction of the RAW/Lightroom file.

This is good news, as the printer isn't faulty & it leads me to think that I am printing with incorrect settings/profiles.

Does anyone else use Lightroom to print to the PX730WD & if so, do you have any tips?

Why don't you use the software that came with the printer..?

I save my photo first from Aperture in the best quality jpeg then i print them.

I used to have a PX710W - basically the same animal as your printer. You might want to check that only LR or the printer is set to control the colour and not both. The best results are normally achieved when LR does the colour control but you need to ensure that the correct ICC profile is selected in LR and the correct paper type is set in the Epson print dialogue. Whilst in the print dialogue click on the "advanced" button and make sure it is set to no colour correction.

There are ICC profiles on the CD that comes with the printer - make sure they are loaded into your computer's profiles folder.

Hope that helps :D
