Week 1: Lines and Angles

A slow start for me with a family bereavement but finally got started before January's finished.

Sorry to hear about the bereavement.
Both of these images work well for there respective themes.
I do like the heartbeat monitor (is the only way I describe it) symbol.

Thank you for all the kind words. It was a welcome change to take the camera for a walk. The heartbeat symbolizes Meer en Vaart which is the street name and also the theatre sloping in on the right.
 
I'm sorry to hear your news Simon.
I really like the Rust & Decay shot. The close crop in makes you concentrate on the chain and gear.
You have a contrast in colour between the rust and the frame, but you also have an element of colour matching between the rust and the wall behind.

Still chasing my tail but here's some doors and windows for week 3.
1 of 2 got outside while the sun was shining (and high enough) for this. Plenty of both and quite liked the tree which seemed to follow the curves of the windows.

and 2 of 2 when it was raining I took this minimalist picture of an ornament. Quite liked the tone which was unaltered, just lit by an led lamp.

Unsure which to pic to choose but probably 2 as street scenes feature often elsewhere in my work.

Week 4: broken.

Some damaged pavement and some interesting patterns in the surrounding brickwork.

Week 7: reflections in water 1 decided to have another bash at long exposure for the lake front near my flat. However there was some wind so the water was moving marring the quality of the reflections and also the high contrast.

I had a recent visit to the nature reserve at Lauersmeer and there was a terrific light at sunset which i tried to capture so this second image was my preferred choice.

Week 8: vintage objects. Struggled for material for this topic until a visit to Groningen and the quirky Schimmelpenninck Huys Hotel which had lots of interesting taxidermy including this fantastic mr fox in the bar. I take this one for my tech: low key submission too.
Think my focus was a little off: maybe shallow dof ...particularly around the birds head. The lighting was very low.

Week 9: time.

Tried my hand at a long exposure with this picture capturing the moving second hand. Quite happy to end up with a shot that fitted my plan !

RE: The watch - I really like this - could be a product shot in a brochure.

RE: Blueberries - another great shot which wouldn't be out of place in a magazine.
