Does anyone know if it is possible to download the EOS Utility from the web anymore?

Reason I’m asking is that I want to install it on my netbook but when I try to run the software from CD via an external CD player it keeps telling me I need a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 to install the software but my netbook has a max resolution of 1024 x 600.

I’m not to computer literate so I don’t want to go into the registry to alter things.

Any help greatly appreciated

There's no point in downloading it if it won't run from the CD. You'll just get the same message. I've had that with some software before, photoshop is one of them that won't install with low res screens.

you should be able to alter the resolution on the netbook to 1024x768 and you get to scroll up and down, I just cant remember of fthe top of my head where it is.

What he said...

On my Netbook running Windows XP, if I right click on the desktop, choose settings and then adjust the slider on the screen resolution to more, I can choose 1024x768. EOS Utility can then be installed and used, you will have to scroll up and down to see the whole display.

I can't remember if you can set the resolution back after installation or if EOS utility checks every time it starts up.

You can change res back , but need to up it every time you use eos utility. I had it on my netbook when I took it on holiday with me a great way to back up on the move .

Thank you for the suggestions All of which I tried before posting with no luck, I’m running windows 7 the full version.

I have had a play with my mate’s netbook running XP and you can increase the resolution to 1024 x 768 on that so I assume they have tweaked windows 7 a bit so you can’t bump up a custom resolution.

It installs Lightroom 4 ok so I will stick with that, I only want it for downloading my holiday shots.

Once again thanks for the help

If its only for downloading you can just use windows.
Why make life complicated? You're only copying files from ond place to another, it's a basic function of the operating system.

if u have lightroom or photoshop then u dont really need eos utility its very basic

I would imagine it's for tethering. You can't install PS or LR on a netbook with a low res screen.
