EOS Utility and flash?

I noticed yesterday that I wasn't able to shoot tethered using EOS utility, live view, using flash...am I missing something?

The kit:
Canon 5D2, tethered to the laptop
EOS Utility
Remote shutter release
Quadra's

I could trigger the camera shutter, but the flash just wouldn't fire. All returned to normal though when I tethered up to Lightroom.

Thoughts? Or am I being totally thick?

Hrmmm... not sure actually. I'll have another go today and see. Thanks Phil, I'll check it out.

In live mode on my 500d I have to hit shutter twice to get flash to fire. But with a 5d it should be okay for tethered.

Often wondered why I couldnt fire flashes when in live view. Thats after changing all the trigger and flash batteries (numerous times) as I forget stuff real quick :-(
