Hi Jimmy, thanks for the welcome.
We aim to get a good mix of technical articles into the magazine as it keeps us different from everyone else. Glad you're finding it an interesting read - I hope you're learning something from it too!

Dave

Certainly have learnt something. Found the metering mode article very handy, and also loved the painting with light article....really need to get out there and try more of that!

hello. Dave Newton. Welcome to TP. You have quite a big forum over there. :)

It's growing nicely - we've got many more members than here but we don't get as much traffic or as many people online at a time. As long as members, on whatever forum they're on, are learning from others and enjoying themselves, then it really doesn't matter - to my mind forums are places to learn and exchange views.

Welcome Dave. It's nice to have friends in high places. :D

I'm only in a 'high place' on account of being 6'4" ... and that's not that high really!

I signed up to Maxim for £9 for 2 years once and that was the worst thing I've spent £9 on. :'(

I just received the Sept-Dec 06 and Jan-Mar 07 issues of EOS mag in the post today and was reading them on the train down to and back from London! They're brilliant! Definitely packed with lots of useful stuff and only the sparse advert here and there.

Really found the article on Program and Metering modes useful for a beginner like me.

Seems like this mag has been going on from the mid-90's and I thought it was pretty new.

Got mine yesterday, not had chance for a proper read yet but the article on stop down metering was extremely good. Looking forward to reading the rest.

Thanks for the welcome guys and the positive comments about the magazine. It's also good to see that you're so happy with it you're spreading the word.
Kamion - this year is actually the 25 anniversay of Club Canon magazine, which after various name changes became to current EOS Magazine! It was around before the EOS system was invented back in the days of the T70 and T90.

Dave

Its good to see a you are obviously an enthusiast Dave, which will undoubtably come across in the mag... so if we have suggestions for future editions you all ears? :)

£15.95 for 4 issues is not bad I suppose :)

5 Issues I think. You get a free extra one when you sign up.

"...we will also include a recent back issue of EOS magazine in your first mailing, giving you five issues..."

Scoff, I am indeed both an enthusiast, and all ears! (though I keep them well hidden so as to not draw too much attention in the street!)
I can't guarantee to implement all suggestions, but I will look at each of them and bring them up at editorial meetings to see what others think.
One thing to bare in mind - we don't cover Photoshop (we have briefly in the past, but only very lightly) and we're not likely too, so asking for anything like that is unlikely. EOS focused suggestions are the best route.

Dave

Cool :)
just a thought.. I'm sure if we tried this place could come up with enough suggestions to keep you pinned down! :)

already started a list...:D

This thread is a bit old now, but just updating with a current voucher code for £5 off - 207092204.

Think you guys have convinced me to subscribe !

Thanks for updating the voucher code.

Have you got a link to go with that 4orty7even?

Just signed up - was interested at the std rate, but with a fiver off its a no brainer - 4 issues and a free back issue.

Can't be any worse than some of the camera magazines at WHSmiths for £4 each !

It is very Canon focused and there is another Canon mag out there - Photoplus. I get both but where I've read Photplus in less than an hour EOS keeps me going for a good few commutes. I think it takes its readers serioulsy in that it gives some quite techi articles and does not need everything illustrated with pics or fill half the mag on PS. Excellent value in my view - down siude there are not enough issues. Why is there not a shop shelf mag for amateurs of the same quality???:thumbs:
