EOS 7D Battery

Hello Every one,

I am looking to buy a secind / spare battery for EOS 7D.
Now do I get a Canon EOS Battery LP-E6 from Amazon.com which I think are doing a good deal.
Or do I go for a non Canon make like Invero ot Powerplant which are apx £25-29 ! ?

If you want the 7D to be able to "recognise" the battery and provide charge information, then go Canon. If that isnt of interest, go third party

Are the Canon batterie chipped in some way then ! ?

Yup and you should do a search on TP, there are a few of us now using Chinese Chipped batteries in our 5D2's and 7D's.

Check out this thread here I have a post towards the end with a link for 7D batteries that are chipped and work fully either as a single battery or in a grip.

Even earlier in the same thread.
These have now been tested fully and are performing like-for-like with the Canon supplied cells.

Surely this can not be a genuine Canon battery, just £10.50 !
Jessops & Warehouse Express are well over £65 plus ! !

I am confused, why such a price difference !
