Hey all,

I am maybe doing something weird here. I have an EOS 7D and the official battery grip. When out shooting today I noticed that, with the grip switched on, I could no longer use the dials on the camera body to control shutter and aperture when shooting in manual mode.

The dial on the battery grip would, when nudged, tweak the shutter speed.

I had similar problems when I tried AV and TV.

Has anybody experienced something similar? I am wondering if I have activated a setting I shouldn't have.

Hi, have just tried mine and can't replicate your problem. Try removing the grip, cleaning the terminals on grip and camera and try again.

I had an issue with mine on Saturday where the controls on the grip were very hit-and-miss.
I took the grip off, gave it's contacts a rub, cleaned the camera's contacts with a CD cleaning pen and refitted the grip.
All's good in da hood now!

Thanks guys. I will try that. It was pretty cold out during my shoot so I changed batteries for a fresh pair and all returned to working order.

I will scrub those contacts as well.

Cheers.
