Eos 650D, what kit to buy?

Hi, as the flash function on my Sony A200 is dead, I'm looking for something new to try, and really like the 650D, but what kit lens should I go for ?
The 40mm prime ?
The 18-55mm is 11 zoom ?
The 18-135mm usm ?
Or the dual 18-55 mm and 55-250mm kit?
I have a 18-70mm lens on my Sony, and really want something with more tele.

Both the 18-55 & 55-250's are good value lenses and would be a hell of a starting block.

Sure there are better lenses, but there always are :)
 
Thanks, but would it be better to get the usm 18-135mm and buy a tele later on ?
 
I had a quick look ate the reviews and it wasn't favorable - no personal experience of that lens though.
 
Thanks again, I'll take the dual kit then, only about £20 difference.
 
At a danish site called kamerashop.dk But most danish sellers have about the same price.
 
The 18-55IS and 55-250IS lenses are both well worth getting to start you ff.

The dual kits can be great value, but double check you can't save money by buying the 55-250IS as a separate lens...

I might spend those on a tripod, like the hama star 61 :)
 
Unless you can get the 18-135 STM with the 650D at a reasonable price then I'd go for the twin lens kit. The 18-135 IS is the only EF-S lens that the wife and I own between us and it's the least used out of the lot. It's not a terrible lens by any means, but it's not the fastest focusser or the sharpest lens around either. I've had the 18-55 IS II and the 55-250 IS and both are better than the 18-135 IMO. The STM version is sharper, has faster AF and has the silent AF for video to go with the 650D. The 40mm STM is a good performer for the price, I found it a better lens overall than a cheap 50 1.8, and it goes very well with the 650D too.
 
Just ordered the 650D with the 18-55mm lens today, and I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow, where I also will get a 64gb SDXC high speed SanDisk card for it.
And also ordered a vertical battery grip, and 2 extra batteries and a pack of screen protectors.
Anything else I should consider buying for it also?
Guess I'm gonna need a bag where the camera fits with the vertical grip and additional tele lens, but have absolutely no clue on what to get.
 
Great camera so far, way more intuitive to use than the Sony and a bit lighter :)
 
I guess by now you're working your way through the manual and having a lot of fun with your new camera. I remember when the wifes 650D arrived, she was like a kid with a neew toy for weeks and she'd already had a 550D before. The 55-250 IS will go excellently with your 18-55 and will give you some great shots for the price you can buy it for.

Have a look at www.panamoz.com for lenses and accessories, they give you great service and great prices too. As for a bag, I got the wife one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Canon..._Camera_Cases_Bags_Covers&hash=item3a69749d96 and they will fit the gripped camera, a couple of lenses and a few other bits and pieces too. It really is a great size for a starter kit and looks good too. Happy shooting.
 
Manuals are for sizzys :) only took me a few days to learn the Sony when I got it, without the manual.
Panamoz don't seem to send to Denmark :( but their prices was pretty good.
 
if it were my money, i'd go for a 600D and some more glass. Maybe a 17-85 or an 18-200..

Trade the shorty forty for the nifty fifty though ;)

Thanks. Btw if i buy a lens in the UK will the warranty be covered in Denmark ?
 
I got my 650d with the 18-55mm is lens for £520 and my 55-250 is for £150, somewhat cheaper than the posted link.
 
Actually got the 55-250mm is for £120, the rest was shipping from UK.
