Yes
The EOS 5D is currently the oldest EOS model in Canon's range, being released in mid-late 2005, it's not been upgraded.

I'm just wondering when Canon will bring out a new version, i'm interested in upgrading to the 5D in the not too distant future.

Anyone have any ideas if/when they will be giving it a makeover?

speculation is pointless, as only Canon knows, and the current 5D (which is very good price at the moment) won't stop taking great pics when the new one comes out. All the time you wait you could be shooting with the 5D now.

Rumors are next spring or latest Autumn, which is when Canon traditionally make their main announcements, you're correct it is due soon.
perhaps their 1dmk3 probs are composing their minds, although I've seen some good shots withit (I'm in the US at the moment).

My bet is on next spring. Its about the only thing they can announce then and the 5D is 2 years old now. It needs, based on the D300 / D3 models, an upgrade.

A local shop who I visited recently said they are expecting an announcement about the 5D MK II in the Spring.

The logical progression will be DIGIC III x2 and 14bit processing. Canon will be missing a trick if they dont provide some environmental sealing and, as Pete says, the D300 needs reminding who's boss (think the D3 already knows)

\steps back to avoid barrage of verbal diarrhoea from easy marks

EOS 7D came up after a barcode scan with UPC.

Check it!!

not sure just how true this is though.

everyone waits for the new 5D but have you thought it will be approx £1300 more than the current 5D prices.

Personally i'm waiting for the D3 then it maybe time for a change :suspect:
