EOS 5D mk3 and Nissan Di866 advice sought.

Hi All

I bought a Nissan Di866 MK2 for my EOS 5D3 but for the life of me I cant see how it triggers remotely? Its fine on the camera but off it I get the message "Incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off".

I was told by The Flash Centre it was compatible with my 5D3 but looking at the Nissan website I see their compatibility list says,

Di866 MARK II for Canon EOS NEW
1D Mark IV / 1D Mark III / 1D Mark II N / 1D Mark II
5D Mark II / 7D / 5D

Is there another way I can get this flash to fire off the camera?

There is no remote flash triggering built in the body so you need another flash or a trigger or cord to trigger the remote flash.

Thank for the reply. For some strange reason I thought the camera could fire an off camera flash. Ho hum. Do you know if i can I get a small trigger that fits to the top of the camera?

I have just ordered some yongnuo yn-622c units to trigger my canon flashes. I don't know if they are compatible with yours.
