Hey,

I've had a quick look round, however I've not really found exactly what I'm looking for.

Basically - which provides more consitent results, printing at 300 dpi but enlarging the image (not sure which method yet) in photoshop, or printing the original image at a lower resolution, say 72 dpi?

I enquired to DSCL and they said they only handle 300 dpi, so my only option is to enlarge the image to the required dimensions at 300 dpi. But if this option is quite messy looking compared to simply lowering the resolution that it's printed at then I may have to look elsewhere.

Oops, seems I didn't look hard enough..

There's a post right below this one which is very similar!

Doh..

Apologies. :)

Photoshop will enlarge the image as well as anything. If there is not enough data, it will have to be made up and photoshop can do that for you.

Sending less data to a printer will not be able to guess the missing data any better.

Do it in Photoshop and be aware of how it will look before it is printed.

Graham
