Engagement Photo today what to wear??

Hi guys we have an engagement photo on a beach today but have been reading on some sites not to wear black,white or silver. Is this true? and why? About 95% of my clothes are black or white (im not a goth or anything i just feel more compfortable in them colours) Please help.

If it's on a beach, you should probably wear something with colour, if only because it's going to hopefully be a nice bright photo. Black on a beach seems a bit weird, wear white if you really want to avoid colour.

Plus, on a beach especially on a bright sunny day, the difference between the black you are wearing and lightness of the sand, sky etc may produce a dynamic range greater than what the camera can record.
