Just called my local store the AA ones are sold out.

Brilliant tip thanks, just grabbed some :) price on shelf was still £4.99 but they went thru at £2. Bargain! :D

Eneloops are 2000mAh. I'm aware many other brands have higher capacities, but like the megapixel debate there's a bit more to it than that... the internet will tell you why these are so awesome :)

Worth noting that the Asda ones are the old type, there's an updated eneloop available but still with the same capacity. Biggest difference is that they can be charged 1500 times instead of "only" 1000. Makes no odds to me at this price.
 
None in my local Asda but I found some Duracell rechargeable Accu stay charged batteries at £2.50 for 4 so I bought the last three packs.

Thanks for the info. I will try these out in my Garmin GPS which is horrendenous power hog and see how they fair.
 
Got the last pack of AA's from Thurmaston branch yesterday for £2, thanks to vulcan 2912!
 
None of my local Asda's sell Eneloops, I did manage to get 2 kits from one of them with 4 AA's 2AAA's and some convertors to C and D cells. they were on offer for £7 and I got the last 2.
I did see the Duracells on Monday for £2.50 I may give them a go.
 
Still couldn't find any Eneloops but found some Duracell Rechargeable Accu Staycharged AA 4pk in Asda that were on the shelf reduced from £7 to £2.50 but scanned at £1.25 :-)))
 
I't not been mentioned but you need to check the "Photo Centre", not where they keep most of the batteries in the main store area.

Plenty in Asda Chadderton!

Still loads in Chadderton, just picked up 5 packs of AA's and a mate took another 2 packs.
 
Two packs of AAA's left Asda Swanley this morning. £2 a pack in the photo section if any use to anyone.
