That is certainly a common infliction !!! but for @Cobra it's a 24/7 problemYup...I seem to have lost almost all self consciousness shortly after picking up a camera![]()

One way round that is to put the camera on a monopod or tripod, set the self timer and hold it above your head, it gets you a few extra feet and just as many strange looks as lying on the groundThere's a great view over the ridge, too but without growing a few feet I was never going to get that in as well
What are you trying to say here Dean? That is certainly a common infliction !!! but for @Cobra it's a 24/7 problem![]()

Thanks AllanHi, number one very good blues very striking sky with an excellent back story too
That's a good tip Chris - thanks! I had no tripod with me this time...maybe I should have tried a bit of acrobatics on my stepdad's shoulders....Really good take on the theme Emma, kind of has a huge back story of struggle and presumably loneliness encapsulated in the one remaining artefact. Personally I prefer the first, the wheel stands out well against a very nice sky and the wider composition sets the wheel more on its own.

Thank you!#1 for me Emma. I like the wider panorama with you excellent choice of PoV!
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on so many shots LizLife - Two beautiful shots the red against the green looks stunning
Hidden - another two beautiful shots
Lone - Three cracking shots if I had to choose I think the first one just has the edge - a really well composed shot I particularly like how imposing the wheel looks against the sky![]()
Thanks Chris - things have certainly changed in Stoke. So many areas remain very run down as communities try and adapt to the changes.Like them all Emma, I spent part of my youth growing up by an old coal mine in the North East. Like Staffordshire all that's left are the remnants of a bye gone era.
There's me banging on about the decline of the mining industry and you bring Teletubbies into it?!#1 ... very nicely done, on the horizon like that! The blues are great, and it has a kind of clean cartoonish quality like I expect the teletubbies to appear.![]()
Thanks Clive - I got lucky with the sky it was flat and grey for most of my visit.Damn big bike!
Great colours in your lonely pit wheel picture and a lovely sky.
Thanks MarkThre cracking images Emma I like them all but for me it has to be No1 I love the sky and leading line of the path that pulls you in to the image![]()

Thank you both - I had to do some cloning to remove a couple of less tidy thistles, but I hope it's not too obvious! We're driving down from Sofia to the coast, making it up as we go along, so I'm hoping to stumble on a few photo opportunitiesHi Emma ....that's a super shot, love the isolation of the flower and the butterfly.

Any more useful tips? none of us have actually been able to fin anyone who has been to Bulgaria, so I'm very much relying on the travel guide!Do try to visit Veliko Tarnovo....it's a fascinating place.
