it would be going great if my licence application hadnt been passed to the medical section because of borderline high blood pressure !!! , the doctor at the medical did mention it but said it wouldnt stop me driving , the DVLA have thought differently !!! , so , i have been to the doctors today and he has put me on a course of tablets , what has annoyed me is the fact that it is not crazy high , just raised , spoke to my hopefully future employer today and they were cool , so i suppose that is a good thing , to say i am ****** off though would be an understatement to say the least :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Ouch. Im sure it will come good in the end. All they care about is that you have a license, and Im sure the DVLA will give it to you :)

thanks kidda , i reckon it will , its not as if the BP was major high where they would refuse a licence point blank , just annoyed that the doctor at the medical didnt say that it may be referred , at least it would have been less of a shock when i found out , the DVLA were less than helpful when i rang them as well , so now i have to wait for a letter from them , i honestly really was looking forward to getting going as well :(

Update - got the letter from the DVLA today , all they want is 3 readings below / 100 and I am good to go , so hopefully in a couple of weeks time the tablets will have kicked in :)

so , went back to the doctors today , he took the readings and was happy to send the form back to the DVLA , so that is good , went to the bus depot and it looks as though i am going to get a start before the end of january , to be honest i cannot wait , it is doing my head in not working !!! , been out of work for nearly 4 months now and that is far too long !!!

Excellent news - hopefully you can get cracking soon

That's great news Paul and all the best

Although it was annoying having to wait while your blood pressure got better its a good job they tested you and found it was high. That may have prevented you having a heart attack or stroke.

I hope you enjoy your new job. I'm really pleased for you.

quite true , thats what i said to the bloke that will be doing the training , getting the job could have saved my life

got my licence back the other day , at the moment it looks as though i will be doing my theory test next week , cant wait to be honest , been out of work for just on 4 months now and it is doing my head in not working :(

Fingers crossed then Paul, glad to hear everything is all well with you again

thanks , should find out today what day next week :)

Good luck with it :)
Remember, the answers are largely down to common sense and safety.

cheers , apparently you do the hazard perception test first and if you pass that then you do the multichoice , going to do a bit of practice on them both in the next few days :)

and at last i have my theory tests on tuesday , cross your fingers for me

Paul all the best for tuesday, have you been practising on the PC? As Marcell said it it mostly common sense.
My fingers and toes are crossed for you

Mine expired this year as I reached 45. I would need to get another medical check to get it renewed but I'm sure I would fail the sight test as I only just passed it fifteen years ago.

I think I've been a passenger on your bus

Congrats!

Remember those who aren't too steady on their feet, when stopping and starting.

To hell with that, there's only two options: full throttle and full brake application :exit::gag:

I recently managed to reach the top of the stairs on a double decker bus just as the driver decided to brake rather firmly for the stop. Fortunately I'm a fairly nimble 20 year old and managed to jump down the steps in two long strides and slow my momentum around the bend by grabbing the handrail, all without dropping my shopping. Needless to say I finished with a triumphant pose to the great amusement of my friend but it did lead me to think how badly hurt someone could have been who was less agile than myself. It would be easy to suffer broken bones / be knocked unconscious / nasty bruises. In future I'll always be cautious and do my best to look out for those older than myself in that situation.

and remember , your a lot bigger than all them cars ,,,so just push them out the way ,,,( just dont try it with us artic drivers )

paperwork day today , going out tomorrow by the looks of it  , so watch out teesside
