Please can anyone tell me how to get rid of the following message and exactly what it means?
This document has an embedded colour profile mismatch that does not match the current RGB working space
Embedded sRGB IEC6 1966 2-1
Working Adobe RGB (1998)
Then options on how to proceed.
1) Use embedded profile
2)Convert document's colours
3) Discard the embedded profile.
I can still print pictures from any of the above options but obviously something is wrong.
Many thanks
Marj.

You have the camera set to sRGB and the editing software colour settings working space set to RGB. You need to have both camera and editing software set to the same, RGB or sRGB to stop the message

Don't worry. It's Photoshop telling you that the file you are opening has a different working colour space profile to the one you are using.

Dependant on what you are doing , use option 1 or 2. Photoshop will then sort things out for you. In your case I would suggest that option 1 would be the best selection

It's all to do with colour management. And it's not the black art many people think it is.

Frank & Chappers
Thank you both for advice.
Will follow yours through,Frank, but I have already tried once, unsuccessfully, to edit working Adobe to change it to the embedded profile (sRGB) as I seem to remember seeing sRGB somewhere at one time.
Failing that I will use option 1 as you suggested Chappers.

In photoshop it's in Edit /colour settings menu, you will see the working space option using the drop down menu. Don't know which camera you have so you'll need to check your handbook. Follow Chappers advice on options 1 or 2
