Has anyone got a winows email client that offers the use of code replacemnt or simmilar.. so I can use a key+code to add longer words or sentance..

lets say i type /hw/ and up pops Hello World

that sort of thing

I used to use foxreplace which did that sort of thing in firefox. Doesn't help you I know but this might. Having got firefox doing what I wanted I never tried autohotkey but it sounds like it should work for any program...

sorry just seen this.. looking into it now THANKS :)

I only need this bit

•Expand abbreviations as you type them. For example, typing "btw" can automatically produce "by the way".

but that does a lot more.. i will search for soemhtign that just does the one thing... am now on right track rather than look for email client wihtt hat feature.. will look for third party proggy... ta

thunderbird with tons of extensions

i would only need the one extension.. gone through 4 pages of them now and cant find the one that does this..i guess its in there somewhere any idea of its name?

I use Autohotkey here... It's used to map all sorts of functions to shortcuts (e.g. Win-C brings up the calculator, my numpad controls audio volume/mute etc...)

What about the Windows "AutoCorrect" function? If you have got Word then go into AutoCorrect and you can create a list of your acronyms which, when typed, will be automatically replaced with your chosen text. I've tried this in Word 2007 and it automatically carries across into Outlook.

I have this set up in outlook. For example, when I type 'regards' it adds in my full signature.

Have a look at Phrase Express. I have used it in the past for setting up all my football coding shortcuts. I also used it for team names and players etc.

http://www.phraseexpress.com/

eg.sg1# will auto type - scores the first goal for
eg.cst1# will auto type - celebrates scoring the first goal with team-mates

The beauty of it is, it works in any program, be it Photomechanic, Photoshop and Word etc.
