Elp,
Can somebody help a silver/crinkly, I’ve done something to my keyboard and now l have all sorts of weird things happening , everything is in caps, some of the keys don’t work, press cap lock and the scroll light blinks and a peep sounds, press backspace and num, caps and scroll lights up. Heelppp meeee?

Crumbs?

Try turning it upside down and banging the back :)

If that don't work they are really cheap. If it will let you, you could buy one online for £2.99 upwards. Heres one for £7.

Tesco, probably less than a fiver, new keyboard, sorted! :)

hmm - do they keys that dont work still press down? or do the not move at all? - I am guessing this is not a laptop?

sounds very odd!

Jimmy,
All the keys press down but not all of them produce a result,

By the way if you’re wondering how I’ve typed this I’ve used the on screen keyboard.

Have you tried turning it off and on again (yes, I do work in IT...) or try pressing CTRL+SHIFT at the same time a few times. There's some weird thing whereby shift lock (like caps lock but worse) can get stuck sometimes.

Solved, thanks Unclerichy.Phoow.

Hi Slovensky, after reading Unclerichy’s comments I sort off did as he suggested but I didn’t know how to switch the keyboard off, so I unplugged it and reconnected it, thinking that was the same thing and it worked.

My God, you mean to tell me that the famous IT motto of "turn it off & then back on again" really works!!!!:lol::lol:

That'll be £6K please ;)

my boy plays a game on the PC, and that screws the keyboard cos if you press one of the keys rapidly and often it buggers it up!

If he's just hitting shift and turning on sticky keys, then just press it five times in a row nice and quick like and all should regain normality.

If you open the Control Panel and go to the keyboard setting or disability setting (i can't remember which off the top of my head) you can turn the sticky function off so it wont happen again.
