just sticking up my first post, looking forward to reading the forums :)

welcome and happy reading..more importantly...happy posting

Hello and welcome aboard.

absolutely! looking forward to grabbing some information and hopefully sharing some!

I'm really interested in gig/concert photography... which is the most appropriate board to post about this on? I want to make sure my talk|photography etiquette is right from the start :)

hi and ................:welcome:

I have exactly the same three lens......

just an aside --- IF you were to upgrade - which body would you go for

the D90 appears to be "choice" but with all AF-S lens, one could goto a D5000 for quite a bit less ?

hey Yardbent... yes I've been thinking about this and I think I would go for the D90, mainly because:

- having the AF motor in the body => a wider range of lenses available
- better ISO performance, I shoot at gigs/concerts so this would be great

at the moment I'd love to get both a D90 and a fast midrange zoom (thinking about the Tamron 28-75 f2.8) but finances will only allow me to stretch to one at the moment!

how about you?

Welcome aboard happy surfing and spending...lol

N.

oh yeah! :D
looking forward to my first month of membership so I can get going on the classifieds forum!

as I dont want any more lens and my 3 are all AF-S, the D5000 is still viable

the body is £200 less than a D90 body - roughly

horses for courses I suppose :)

I think if I was upgrading the body, I would want to take a 'considerable' jump (ie. to a D90) rather than a small improvement to the D5000... I'm considering getting the D90 second hand, either from the classifieds here or ebay... or maybe onestop-digital, where it's £550 inc fedex delivery (so £60/70 cheaper than the best UK price I can find).

Hi and welcome :)

keep me posted ?

sure thing :)
not sure whether to upgrade the body first, then be able to buy an alternative lens to the Tamron 28-75 (ie. without motor)

or get the above lens and then upgrade to the body later!
