Hi,

I have some Elinchrom Style rx300's and 600's which do not have the built in skyport like the later Bxri's, I have to use some sort of wireless plug in sync control with them.

I have pocket wizards which i use but I only have 4 ....so when doing a 4 light setup i have to have one of the heads on photocell trigger as one of the PW2's is on the camera body....not so bad unless there are people around shooting with point and shoots which trigger the photocell activated light.

To overcome the problem I have purchased a quad set of triggers with a separate triggering unit....now my problem is getting hold of short PC-Elinchrom fit sync leads... I think the connection on the Elinchrom's is an Amphemnol...but I may be wrong...

The new set of triggers were purchased from this site for a very reasonable price, If I cannot source any, I may have to butcher 4 of the 5M ones which is a bit wasteful if I can buy the shorter ones a little cheaper.

Does anyone know where I can purchase 4 of these ?

flashzebra may well have exactly what you need, won't be cheap though - to the extent that it'd be cheaper to buy another pocketwizard! Can't imagine you finding them too cheap anywhere tbh, seeing as it's a specialised connector. Don't the styles have a 3.5mm jack plug as well as the multipin elinchrom connector?

They come up on ebay regularly as they are part of the eli skyport set - amphenol to mono audio jack. Surplus to requirements for many skyport users.

Cheers for the link Dave, there are about another 4 items on that site that I've been looking for over the past month or so...

Great find and again Thank you

Merry Xmas

Is this what your after??

Elinchrom Sync Lead

Hey Matt,

Thank you for the link...but its not what I am looking for...The leads I need are short(30cm'ish) with the large Elinchrom plug on one end and the small PC plug on the other....5m ones are available all over the place but a short 30cm version is no where to be found...I used to work in electronics so I could easil knock some up but cutting a 5m one down to size and re-joining the leads but this is quite wastefull and I may need the long 5m one in an emergency at some point....I'm a belt and braces type of person with string and masking tape as a back up for my back up ....lol

Thanks Kris and Cherryrig for your help though...

Merry Xmas to you all

I know what you mean.

I have a set of early Prolinca guns that only have the amphenol connection.

If using these, I use the same cables that you have - the long amphenol to pc connection leads that came with them. I plug the pc end into a pc - hot shoe adapter, then put that on top of the RF602 receivers hotshoe, and just coil up the long amphenol lead.

Ive never noticed any slow firing, so it seems to work fine. Plus, as you say, you have a spare long lead in case you get interference or the triggers stop working.

Hi Kris, Just got an email back from Zebra saying they cannot do a short version...Doh !

Back to the drawing board me thinks...Look more and more likely I'm going to have to DIY it ....Never mind...Thanks all for the help...

I suspect it may be because the Amphenol Elinchrom may not be that common, so cant get the connector. I'd never seen it before to be honest.

I bought one from TFC some years ago, it might be worth asking them. They describe them as 'tails'

In my haste to get the correct fitting connectors, I totally failed to see the obvious solution...open your eyes and check the other interfaces on the rear of the flash head...2.5...3.5mm and the Amphenol connector...

I think it was a matter of not seeing the wood for the trees !...Sorry for the time waste
