Hiya , took delivery of this kit Friday morning . When opening the box and checking . I found that one light was damaged !! Where you adjust the head angle and to put non elinchrom brollies in . The whole mechanism had fallen off , teeth that meet to allow the locking mech had snapped away . Also one middling lamp rattled more than a baby's rattle .
Now , phoned the supplier and after the young lady had been away to speak to ask what she needed to do . She reported that this wasn't the first head that had this problem upon opening !!!!
I know they will replace this with a new kit . But my question is , has anyone else had quality problems with these heads ?
I had ti use the lights for a charity event last night . And I will say that they are lovely to use :-) and with the soft boxes that come in the kit . The light is lovely and soft . This alone gave me lots of extra print sales from some older people at the event :-))
I am concerned that for the money they cost , are they scrimping on sone quality , where it really should count . As this is one part that will receive a lot of movement !

I am in two minds wether to get some different lights in the hope the build is better . But have already fallen in love ;-)

Any help would be welcome .

I had a Dlite-it 4 kit that arrived with the adjuster arm broken off too. It did not seem to be a quality issue to me, rather a 'damaged in transit' problem. It does seem that the arm sticking out of the side may be a little prone to damage if treated roughly, i.e dropped etc...

In my case the supplier promptly sent me a new kit on return of the damaged kit, I have since bought another identical kit and have not had any further problems with them.

I own two D lite IT kits and mine are fine.. But I did pick mine up from the store!

I have a D lite kit as well - collected directly from the supplier - all good - and very much recommended...

It does seem that it's a courier thing , after speaking to the supplier today . They are sending out replacement parts as I have a few jobs on and can't be without them .
Glad you guys like them as well :-)
