Elinchrom D Lite Softbox set up problems?

Bought my dlite 2's a while ago but just decided to try and set up the soft boxes. Looks simple enough on the dvd supplied but its not when you try yourself!. Anyone who has these will know what i am on about! Any ideas what the technique is?

They have both recently bought d-lites and have both made comment about putting the softbox's up :eek:

3 comments about difficulties now inside 2 weeks......I might rethink my choice !!!

Set up 3 of the stems in the cover into the adapter ring, have the adapter ring in the rear opening, then fit the 4th stem into the last corner and slide the stem into the last fitting from the side. You will have to keep a firm hold onto the adapter as you slide the stem home, the cover is very flexible. Hope this helps without a diagram, it took me a couple of goes to get it right, but think I have mastered it now.

i know what you mean they can be a pain
the way i put mine together is make sure you push that metal centre ring in the centre of the softbox,the push one of those metal rods into the softbox first then slide the other end under the metal ring and into the slot.then do the same on the opposite side,this can be tricky as the first side can pop out,but once you have two rods in place the other two are easy to fit.thats what i found anyway:thumbs:

Took me a while to do the first one! I used a thick rubber band to hold the centre ring in the cover. Then I inserted the first rod, and moved round one by one. Trying to do opposites was impossible :)
 
All sorted now thanks. Might just keep them assembled now as it will encourage me more to use them. Once again..Thanks
 
I leave my soft boxes up !!! they are a pain to keep assembling !!!..
 
ive ordered the D-lite 4's so will be trying this out soon. im gonna leave them assembled too once up.
 
they get easier the more often you put them up and down! mine are a doddle now, took me 30 mins ish the first time!!(for each box!!)
 
love the lights, and how small it is when packed away.
