Elements RAW editor fewer tools

I've noticed i have fewer tools in the RAW editor than some others at the very top left hand side i.e - Grad tool, mine doesn't have this and i could do with one.
Is this because it's Elements 8 and i would need to buy for instance CS4/5 ?
 
Yes. The RAW editor in Elements does appear to be missing some tools of the full RAW editors out there (Lightroom and CSx)
 
Thanks Andy, i suspected this might be the case i just wanted to make sure.
i might look around for an older CS :)
 
Just make sure the version supports your camera. Look at the second sticky in this subforum.
 
Lightroom has the same (or maybe better?) RAW editor as the full fat photoshop and with the new version the price has dropped, so might be worth a look.

Thanks i'll look into Lightroom, i know a lot of people swear by it, CS4/5 are mega bucks, i'd rather buy a lens.....or two :lol:
