I've been trying to learn how to erase objects in elements 11 from here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk1kwReBDB8
and was doing fine  but now I've clicked something that has given me 2 +'s on the image, when I move one, both move and it copy's what ever its moving over on to the image next to it :bang:.........does that make sense

Anyway......when I first started I was fine, Alt to grab area I want it to match.....then clone out what I wanted with a circle......just like in video

Even closing E11 and reopening doesn't reset it ...

If you could please help, in easy to follow, idiot proof instructions, it would be much appreciated, thanks :)

Are the two there all the time or does one appear when you hold down the left mouse button

Just checked and the 2nd does only appear when I hold down the left mouse button

This is just a guess as I'm no photoshop wiz. I think you've got something like the clone tool or similar selected and the size of the brush is at its minimum. This gives the two crosses. If you look carefully at the two the left hand one appears when you hold down the mouse button and is a true cross. The right hand one, which is always there has a tiny square in the centre??

If you're in expert mode you should have the toolbar shown under the image. If not press "T" and it should appear. Hopefully it will show you what you've selected.

With any version of Elements, it's a good idea once you've finished using a tool to click on the Hand tool (or press H) to avoid making unwanted changes to your image.

I'll remember that, cheers

TBH I'm probably 'trying to run long before I can walk' as they say,but I'm only practising on images I'm not bothered about. :)

Gary, thank you, I think your right.......also I'd changed something in the drop down box that says 'mode' I've set that back to 'normal' ......as said above.......I may just be getting ahead of myself
