Electronic Cigarettes

Wouldn't mind trying 'flavours' :D

Fir comparison, I use these, the early one which I got did have a problem with the liquid leaking if you left it lay flat, but this later one, which I also have, is much improved and doesn't have the leak problem

http://www.nicocig.co.uk/improved-electronic-cigarette.php

I haven't tried those, but I decided that I wanted a bigger cartridge so I wasn't always filling it up. I am loving the Tornado Mega it holds about 2 ml of liquid.
I have tried lots of flavours, whisky, banana, chocolate, coffee.. but always seem to come back to tobacco type flavours. The sweeter ones are nice, like virginia, hilton, cigar etc..

I've been thinking about these for a while and just ordered the Tornado Tank E-NIC Kit :D ........ Should be interesting and looking forward to trying it

Do come back on this thread and let us know how you get on with these, I need to quit.

The Tornado Tank concept is fine, but in reality and from my experience it is not as good as the Tornado Mega.
I have had the Tank for three months, but continue to get leakage problems if I re-use the Tanks more than just a few times. The response from Totally Wicked is that the tanks are only designed to be refilled once. At almost £1 for a small plastic tank it makes it a very expensive way to vape.
I bought some mega atomisers and cartridges which use the same batteries and charger as the Tank and I'm very happy with these. The cartridges are said to hold twice as much fluid as the tanks and can be re used may times.

The vaping experience is different to smoking, but I find it more satisfying. I have been vaping for over a year now and would recommend any smoker to try it.

For anybody starting out be aware that the first fill on a new cartridge or atomiser is not the flavour you will taste after a few uses. So don't make a judgement on the first few 'drags', it just gets better and better.

Good luck and happy vaping!

Hi Nigel

The Tornado tank got delivered today and have to admit I'm seriously impressed .... I got it all set up and have been using it for the last few hours and haven't even thought about lighting a fag.... ... The thing is I didn't even buy it to get me off ciggies! Okay it's just a few hours ... but it works well, really well :D

Thanks for the info Gordon  I'll see how the 'tank' works out..... Any recommendations for the different flavours etc?

Cheers Steve.

I have just purchased the intellicig. It helps a little but I can't get a decent draw from it. If I could, I think I would be able to make do with vapouring rather than smoking. I have cut down from 40 a day to around 12/15 a day, but finding it hard. I have cellotaped 2 of the three holes on the intellicig, but it still feels worse than a Silk Cut Ultra.

Perhaps I should try the Tornado tank? More money to spend. :gag:

Although this has helped a little, it is mainly down not being able to smoke in a rented property. If it was warm outside, I'd probably be on at least 30 a day. Still a cut from 40, but not good enough. :'(

You're welcome  I'm just about to go to bed and it will be the first time in about 15 years where I haven't had a fag since 7 O'clock ..... and i'm not even trying to stop

This thing works  ... but if it doesn't I've still got plenty of baccy :D

I got my intellicig yesterday, mainly cos it was for sale in a shop pretty much round the corner and I'm impatient!
I see what you mean about getting a decent draw. It's more like smoking a pipe just getting it started. Maybe I should try the other brand mentioned? That said, I've rolled only 2 today.
I'm also using it to cut down rather than as a cessation tool but it could be looking like it'll help me stop. The cartridges come in varying strengths, so a regime of reducing nicotine gradually?
Breaking the habit of putting my coat on to stand outside to get my hit will be hard ;)

and to inspire you try this:

QUITKEEPER

It keeps track of how you are doing
I've saved £14,271 since I packed up nearly 4 years ago :eek::D

I did have one slip about 18 months ago when going through a bad patch, felt a real desire for a cigsarette and thought what the heck, result, I immediately threw up, that cured me

Glad to see you are enjoying it, the Tornado's are really great machines whether it be the Tank or the Mega. It's difficult to recommend flavours as we all have different tastes and even TW Red Label has a different taste to TW Black Label. Other makes also taste different so it's a matter of trying them out. The flavours I like most are TW Red Label Virginia, Cigar, French Pipe. I also use Hilton, State Express, Tobacco and Cherry Cigar sometimes. I found Whisky and Banana flavours too strong, chocolate was dark chocolate flavour and I like milk and coffee was a bit mild for me.
I tend to buy the 5 bottle multi packs and choose a selection of flavours to try out.

I always have two cigarettes on the go at the same time with different flavours and alternate between the two. I really enjoy it, wish they had invented these years ago.

Spend the money Nigel, you won't regret it. Treat the intellicig as a learning curve. I tried four different types and eventually ended up with a 901 which was the best until they brought out the Tornado Tank and Mega. You can also get low resistance atomisers for that extra kick.

Another update :D

I really like this vaping thing, not missing fags at all  Still learning how to use it, strengths, favours etc.

I've had about 12 rollies since Thursday evening and the majority of those were due to running out of juice! ...... Still on the sample carts that came with it :D .... High is too high and low is too low  .... Medium for me at about 18mgs.

Yes those very high 36mg send my head spinning. I'm using the 11mg and 8mg liquid now and loving it. I don't miss the fags either this is much more fun.

The only side effect I find is that I get a bit of reflux, thank God for Gaviscon.

A word of warning, I have had two of the automatic batteries fail on me. Checking the TW forum it appears that liquid leaking into the battery can mess up the sensor so it's best to stick with the manual batteries.

It'll be five months for me next week that I've been off the fags. I smoked 30 a day (I don't know how I found time now! lol) and gave up after a bad chest infection. Saying that, I'd tried twice before, and was so ready to give up.
Just keep trying. Even if you have days where you need an odd 'one', at least on the days you don't smoke, you're getting there.

Darran....you smoked for 30 odd years?? When did you start?

Well done Tori, that is great. I was smoking for over 40 years, tried giving up a few times with no success. I'm now hooked on these electronic systems, but at least I have got rid of the tobacco and cancer causing chemicals.

Thanks Gordon. It was hard work, and still is some days. I just eat more cake now...lol. The gym is killing me instead now ;-)

Hi Gordon

Are you a member on the TW forum? ... Reason I ask is... I tried to register but it's not working!

Hi Steve,

Yes I'm a member there, but never had any real input, just pick up the tips from the long term users.

If I remember correctley I had a few problems registering. Give it another try!

Hope its working for you James :) I quit 4 years ago & like others have said its the best thing I ever did, I can't believe I wasted all those years & money smoking.

Get as much help as you can from your GP, patches, inhalers etc are all free on prescription so make the most of them.

One of the best things that worked for me was a little piece of software called Quitkeeper http://www.dedicateddesigns.com/qk/
You type in your info, how many you smoke, how much a pack, how many a day. Its a great encouragement to see how much money you would have spent & cigs smoked.
Join a quit smoking forum too where you can talk to others experiencing the same feelings but just stick with it because you won't regret it :)

Hi Gordon and thanks for the reply ..... I still can't get registered .... Oh well!

I quit yesterday, and thanks to the NHS smokefree app I know that I've been stopped for 1 day, 13 hours, 3 minutes and 33 seconds, and have saved £9.47 (which is a gip, I smoked rollies )

I'm using nicotine patches and an inhaltor for when I feel the urge. The tangle that's in the NHS quit kit is good for keeping your hands busy too.

Well done Chris, this is the hard bit. Keep going! ;-)

5 months for me on the 18th :)

After meals is the killer for me, not helped by the fact I actually enjoyed smoking, but health and fitness wise I've got no choice but to quit

I found after meals hard too. Also in the mornings when I first got up. I couldn't function without having at least two cigarettes before I did anything. Even breakfast/cuppa! I went from 30 a day to nothing, cold turkey, no patches/gum etc so if I can do it anyone can. You just have to be ready to do it.

Best of luck to you!

well done stoppers

Now that's good going! I'm not too bad in a morning, usually I'd get up, have breakfast and then go to work, not having a ciggy until I got to work and had a coffee. Just been keeping busy, that's why I picked yesterday to stop, knowing that I had the weekend off and could keep busy doing something I wanted to do instead of being at work!

It's amazing how much nicer my house smells. And my clothes. Even the soft bags all my togging stuff's in already smells nicer

I've noticed how much cleaner my car stays. No more hoovering ash off the back seat! Ewww!

I sometimes have a coffee flavour vape in the mornings and a nice cigar flavour after a meal. I don't think I could ever enjoy a cigarette again like I used to, but now I should be considering changing to zero nicotene vaping.
 Maybe chocolate flavour would be a good place to start? Or would I start eating chocolate when I run out of liquid?

What's that? Like a hubbly bubbly thing? I have one of those...lol

No, nothing like that. It is just an electronic cigarette. Consists of a battery, antomiser and a cartridge that holds the liquid. You just puff on it like a cigarette and instead of puffing smoke you puff vapour.

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/

It's for cheats like me who don't have your will power and still enjoy the nicotene buzz without the harmful tobacco effect. At least my lungs are getting clean without me getting grumpy or putting on any additional weight. Of course going cold turkey would be better if I was strong willed enough.

I have bought the tornado tank now. Can get a good draw from this but the tobacco flavour tastes horrible. Is there a Benson and Hedges Gold flavour?

Now I'm wondering how much I will spend to try different flavours and if I will ever find one I can use/enjoy in order to give up smoking altogether; or at least stop me going out the back yard for a proper smoke quite so often.

Yep!... know exactly what you mean..... The best I've found so far is the aromatic flavour and the Marlbury isn't too bad :) .... still searching though and BTW stay away from the Green Cow :gag:

As I said in an earlier post, the new atomisers and cartridges take time to settle in before you get the best taste from them. The only Benson Gold fluid I tried clogged up the atomiser very quickly. I can't remember the make now. I would suggest you buy a Titan 10ml x 5 multipack and try five different tobacco flavours to see which you prefer.
