Electric Shavers

When I was about 15, an uncle told me that whatever system you start with (electric or wet) you will probably never be able to change. Noticing that he took only 2-3 mins a day to shave (electric) and my father wet shaving took 15mins or more, I noted this. After earning my first wage I bought an electric shaver (Ronson), I think. I move to Philishave many years ago. My current Philishave can be used wet or dry. I have only ever used it dry but it can be used in a shower. I once tried wet shaving and came out in a rash. The benefit of electric seem great as 2 mins only a day, I can spare but 15mins no way.

I don't understand why it would take 15 minutes to wet shave?
It takes me less than 5 minutes using a safety razor and shaving soap with a brush....

Same as @Bobsyeruncle - only way it takes me 15 mins to wet shave is if I'm using an open razor & I'm doing my head as well. Otherwise 3-4 mins

Aye, takes me a couple minutes and I'm in no hurry, no idea how you could spend 15mins shaving! Unless he's letting a full beard grow between each shave?

Glad to hear this remember I do not normally ask people how long they take to shave. My brother-in-law claimed he had to shave twice a day and 15 mins each time.

In a past life I used to sell electric shavers, one of the most common causes for complaint was that people didn't realise they will not shave as close as a blade. They ended up pressing too hard and got skin rashes. Run the shaver over the skin, don't press it into your skin.

I electric shave on work days (Remington rotary) since I don't need a perfect finish and wet shave at weekends (Lidl finest noname 5 blade).

I think that was one issue I had with electric shavers, I was pressing in too hard because I never felt they were getting close enough - I like smooth, zero facial hair, could never be a beard man as I find even slight growth irritating [baby face!]
