Hi all, i would like to buy an electric Shaver,

can any one make any recommendations....

really would be nice to get one for a Xmas present.

Price range?

I was a 30 year, diehard wet shaver until it was holiday time in August. I just couldn't be ****** to pack the kit so I bought a Remington R5130.

Nice easy smooth shave & have used it daily since then :)

*MrsGubby approves of the quality

Remington Flex&Pivot Titanium and Teflon Rotary Shaver R7130 @ £68.49

or

Braun 7 Series 720 Foil Shaver

Philips HS8460 Nivea for Men Shaver

any one

The Remingotn R7130 is the same as mine but with a LCD screen so I'd recommend that one :)

But it's all down to face shape, mutant or egg style ;)

Why would you need an LCD screen on a shaver?

You don't, just a marketing gimmick

On my version you have LEDs to show charge while the LCD version shows % battery (I think)

The OH has a Philips Arcitec, not sure of current prices, but he swears by it, says its the best electric he has ever had and I can confirm it gives a lovely close finish  ;)

I agree.
The HS versions that release the nivea cream are really good.
I had the previous version and replaced it with the HS earlier this year.
It's so good I bought the company...Err...Wrong product :D

Another vote here for the Philips Nivea range.

The only downside is they tend to work better if used daily rather than trying to get rid of three days growth as the foils are quite fine and tend to clog quite easily if the hairs are too long.

One more for the Philips Nivea range. I have been using them for around 7 years now, and am on to my second one. Only reason I replaced it was the blades needed replacing and it was cracked where I dropped it.
I wet-shave once a week and use the electric one daily after that in the shower.

i find that my phillips coolskin nivea is useless, its never been very good but now it needs new blades at some extortionate cost (30 odd quid!)

i wetshave, its slighly less painful as it leaves my face in shreds
