Certainly a classic - but hardly the original. Even Porsche were making electric cars in the 19th century. EVs were really popular until that upstart Mr Ford got involved.

...but it is a major factor in my decision to stick with ICE.

A very large part of the population don't have the opportunity to charge a car while at home, so we continue to subsidise the minority who, having received a discount to buy their electric cars, then don't pay fuel tax either.

It’s more a case of supporting innovative industry that is better for the world.

All of which add up to a tiny amount comparing to subsidising fossil fuel industry…..
