Electric bikes

Evenin' Gary.

I've had my existing bike adapted to as an electric one using a £599 kit. I liked my bike too much and getting a dedicated electric bike was too expensive so this was an ideal compromise. It does take the edge out of them hills even though you will need to provide some pedal assistance and is ideal for a quick spin around the town, especially as Folkestone is quite a hilly place anyway.
My adapted bike has a range of 12 miles between charges and takes about 8 hours to charge up and apparently will be good for 2,000 recharges which is about 5 or 6 years usage.
If you are the type to go driving around in a car clocking up thousands of miles zipping from one place to another as you leave things until the last minute, then an electric bike is going to feel like a massive downgrade if you want to use it for commuting to work, but for someone like me who is a home carer looking after an elderly mother and hadn't driven in 7 years, it is very handy for me.

If you need the assistance then they are great. Best to buy a bike designed as electric, they have come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years.

The guy who invented the G tech cordless vac's has brought out a battery assisted cycle. Saw an advert on tv a few days ago.

Would lie to find a localish stockist to arrange a test drive, anyone know of any dealers in West Yorkshire
