Well, who will ever forget the day eight years ago.

Many people I knew and worked with for years gave their lives on that day.

RIP to you all.

We will not forget...

:(

Nearly the whole day went past without me realising what this date signified. Something was itching at me, I just couldn't think. And then it hit me, about 20 minutes before reading this.

No, you're right.

We will never forget. We may need to be reminded, but it will not be forgotten.
The bravery of the services was phenomenal and my sincere apologies go to the families and friends of the lives lost that day.

I think that the Twin Towers events are for my generation (42yo) something akin the our parents with the JFK assasination, in as much that i can remeber vividly and exactly what i was doing and where i was and my emotions as the events unfolded that terrible day.

At the time i really thought..."chrikes is WW3 about to kick off"... honestly that was what was going through my mind before a name was attached to the perpetraitors.

am more worried about the issues we face NOW and those are the things that should be remembered, the palastines dying as israeli sweeps the east - the atrocities happening in Afganistan, Korea, Burma.

the lives of the people who died on Sept 11 2001 are worth remembering, but no more than those lives still being tortured by our niaeve and capatlist society

What the CIA Black Operation Group did that day was terrible, but many more have lost their lives since because of it.

The post I made was for the people I knew and worked with for many years, friends of mine.

I am not and was not comparing it with anything else. This is something that means more to me as I knew a lot of people who died that day and it is my message to them.

i am so sorry if you feel my words are in detriment to the memory of your friends, i wish you the best at this hard time as the anniversary of loosing loved ones has got to be a very hard time x

but i am also not comparing it with anything else, merely eluding to the idea that those peoples lives were lost as part of something bigger than a random act of violence, and that for the rest of us, with less of a personal connection, should be using that memory to build a more peaceful world from the ashes

but this is your grieving and i am truely sorry if i have offended you or upset you with my words

xx Fi xx

to the OP, i know how you feel, Aug 98 the American Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya was bombed, the building next to it collpased from the bath and my girlfriend of 4 years at the time was in the buidling.

I am sorry for your losses, keep their memories in your heart. You'll never forget them.
