in a mosque as well, blimey how does a community recovery from things like this.

Suni vs Shiit among other versions of islam. Kinda like Protestants vs Catholics. Could be about political influence.

Doesn't matter what the religion is, these terrorists don't follow religion, if they did there would be peace in the Middle east
 
Crazy numbers.. sad thing is, this is not uncommon.
Over here we quite rightly go crazy over 10 or so killed in attacks every now and then, but elsewhere, 80+ is a weekly occurrence
 
So sad. I love Egypt and headed there this year for the first time in a while due to restrictions. There was a stabbing incident at a resort near to us and we weren't even told by the hotel or first choice rep. We only knew when we returned to a million texts and emails asking if we were okay. Did have a bit of a wobble after that but the normal people who work there are lovely. It's the idiots that are trying to ruin the economy of many of these countries who attacked again yesterday and as mentioned above they don't care who they kill.

They do care who they kill. Their targets are anyone who doesn't adhere to their particularly strict interpretation of Sunni Wahhabi Islam. In this case it was a Sufi mosque that was attacked. Sufi's practice a mystic version of Sunni Islam that involves enjoying life. ISIS don't like fun.

You have hit the nail on the head.
Daesh (IS), Al Nusra, Al Qaeda, Taliban, Al Shabab, Boko Haram - they all have one thing in common. Their beliefs are based on extremist Wahhabi Salafist Sunni Islam. They will target and kill anyone who does not adhere or convert to this belief system, whether that be Sufi, Shia, Yazidi, Amadi, Christian, Jew or atheist. They are almost certainly being funded by Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Sunni states, and they are spreading Wahhabism across the World, including funding mosques in the UK, as this recent report in the Guardian highlights.

'xactly. It's basically the Spanish Inquisition with assault rifles and bombs.

I'm a little surprised by the lack of coverage though - first thing I saw on the BBC was that Egypt promised "revenge". By that time the headlines were all full of Strictly Get me out of Bakeoff Professionals. I don't think Facebook even had a background for this one.

It's really wird. You can visit the wildest nature on earth with bears, big cats, cobras or crocodiles among other dangerous animals etc and be confident youll make it save home because you did your homework and know how many to cope. Go to a city in the "civilized" world and there is nothing you can do. No matter how prepared youre still at risk getting killed by a stray bullit. Its just so unpredictable.
