My next purchase will be a new body and toying with the idea of the Sony A7R3 (or 5D mk4). I need better low light capability and two card slots. A lot of my photography is done in situations where I cannot use flash or lights, and I need it to be capable of capturing decent video.

Has anyone had any luck with an adapter to use EF lenses on a Sony? Reading mixed reviews out there, some saying it is fine and some saying disappointing!

It is bizarre really, the Sony seems to beat the 5dmk4 on paper on most aspects important to me (apart from battery life, so will have to buy some spares). Would consider the canon R but that also does not seem to compete!!

Would be interested to hear from anyone who made the move from canon to Sony, and their thoughts.

What are you focusing on low light?

If it's on a tripod and manual focusing it matters not which one you choose.

If you are shooting moving subject with autofocus then Sony with adapted Canon lenses isn't ideal, it works but there seems to be a slight delay in locking in focus. It's functional and you can get away with it.

I am usually shooting at events, hand held, moving subjects and no flash or lights permitted. Restaurant and competition environments so great mood lighting, crap for photos!!

No time for staging shots, tripod or manual focus, so sounds like the Sony is out!
