Well I decided that I would today part with my Zuiko 100mm f2.8, but to increase it's chances of sale I thought it probably best to deal with it's demons, so out comes the front element group...yikes!





Now then, to slay the beast! :lol:
 
Hopefully it hasn't etched into the glass.

Thankfully it wiped off without a trace, phew!

It's very satisfying when that happens. :thumbs:

I recently bought a LF lens that was described as suffering from haze and priced accordingly. The front element came off and after a quick wipe with isopropyl alcohol it was as clean as a whistle.:)
 
Can assure you they make b****r all difference to the images, this lens is sharper than ANY of my modern digital ones. (I'm taking some test shots with it on the Fuji right now, and the results are making me seriously think it's time for some Leitax bayonets!)

That raises a question I've always wanted to know the answer to: If you have one lens with fungus, can it spread to uninfected lenses stored near to it?

Even if it did it wouldn't live unless the conditions are right i.e. dampness...anyway spores are everywhere and would say all camera gear outside a clean room lab are infected waiting for the right conditions, proof of this is to take your expensive lovely perfect lens from it's display cabinet and put it in a damp place.
