can anyone suggest a decent software package for editing? have not really got anything that will do what i am trying to do. am looking for any progs that you can do a freehand crop or will find distinct edges so that backgrounds can be re coloured etc.
but any suggestions as to decent software would be good

well, i'd say adobe photoshop or photoshop elements but you don't say what budget you are on or if in fact you want freeware/shareware software - also, what operating system you on?
